"Oskar" is the prize commissioned by Triennale Milano and dedicated to the best entrepreneurs of tourism from the Chamber of Commerce of Milan Monza Brianza Lodi ("Premio Impresa 4.0"). Conceiving this work, Andrea Maestri's thought goes immediately to the most celebrated prize of modern times: the Hollywood "Oscar", a severe, mysterious and shining human figure that holds a long golden sword. From this universal icon his homonym “Oskar” was born: ironically a funny and round statuette, a sort of small monument that represents in a playful way one of the many tourists that crowd the Italian cities, becoming a character and an affective object. Characterized by sinuous and reassuring shapes, it shows a very joyful decoration and holds a small camera instead of the shining weapon.
The object is in ceramic, handmade and hand painted by the best italian craftsmen, with golden parts that emphasize its preciousness.
